Link Building For SEO

As you should know link building for seo is very important. I want to talk about link reputation and link popularity. When we think of links getting fired to your website, there are two factors that we need to take into account, link reputation and link popularity. Link popularity has to do with how many links, or how strong the links are. It’s important to have high link popularity. The other thing that is important is reputation. We can have lots of links pointing to the website, but unless they’re pointing to the website with the right word, they’re not going to be that important.

What is a reputation? Reputation is what people say about you. What the links are saying about you is the link reputation, whereas link popularity has to do with how many links we’re getting. It’s important to have good link popularity and good link reputation.

Let’s consider ways to get inbound links. We’ll start with what I consider to be the best and easiest way. First there are articles. Articles are fantastic because there are articles directories across the internet and there are websites that collect people’s articles, almost like a repository of articles where people will go and submit articles. For submitting the article, you get to put something in what is known as the resource box. At the bottom of all articles there is a resource box, and usually it is something that points back to the author.

You can point your articles back to your website. You might go off to an article directory, and one of the best ones is EzineArticles.com. You publish your article and the resource box you link back to your website. You would make sure you have your keyword in the resource box and link it through and also you might have the url. It varies depending on the site. Some sites will let you have more links in there, and other sites will let you have fewer links there.

Articles are the best thing to do. You can get articles written- there are article services out there. You can go to rentacoder, you can go to needanarticle. You can get articles written for you, keyword optimised already and then you can publish them. An important point is that it is better to have these articles keyword optimised, and here’s why. First, you might be able to get that article to rank itself off the back of ezine articles. You might get it to come up in the search engine and rank for the keyword you are optimizing for. That’s why it’s important to have it optimized.

The other reason builds on the idea of link reputation. A link that comes from a page, if that page is on topic, is important. Let’s say we had two articles, one on dog’s health and one on the best wine. The link about wine is coming from a page about wine, so it is more important. But the real reason is, if you optimize you might get ranked in the search engine and you also might come up higher on the article directory itself. The article directory has its own search features. This can be a key feature of your link building for seo strategy.

How Keywords Fit In SEO

One of the key things on how to do seo is your keyword research. That is really what drives the search engine. What does a Google screen look like? It’s got the search box and it’s got ‘Go’. That’s all it has on the website. Why does Google do that? Google does that because it has no idea what it is that you are looking for. When you go to other search engines like Yahoo, they’ll have advertising and news and then they’ll have the search box.

Google took a different approach. They said, we know you’re going to be looking for something, we don’t know what you’ll be looking for, so why should I clutter everything up when I don’t even know what you are looking for yet. Google was much smarter and now you just enter what you are looking for and it will return relevant information. It won’t give you the other things that you may not be looking for.

When it comes to selecting the keyword, when you type in a keyword, Google has its own index. The way search engines work, they have search engine spiders. They will crawl different websites to get a picture, a map of the way the website works. Consider a website with its home page and internal pages and various links to other websites. The spider jumps on the links and follows the links around to try and discover what is going on with the web. It will jump from these links from website to website and adds that into the Google catalogue or index.

This index lists every page on the internet. The spider has to be able to find it obviously. So that is another important thing to remember. Google won’t be able to find that page unless you’ve got some way for it to find that page. If I just create a page and load it up onto the internet and there are no links to it, it is a page all on its own, and I don’t put a link from my blog, or from other websites, Google won’t find that page. The way the search engine works it has its spider and it must follow the links to find the page.

These virtual spiders will go through and create a catalogue of all the different pages on the internet and then it will apply its algorithm to that index to determine what it should serve up depending on what someone types in. Let’s say someone types in soccer drills because they want to improve their soccer drills and they want to see what comes up in their search. They type it in, Google will do an analysis and go through its entire index to serve up what it considers the most relevant pages for the keyword soccer drills.

Coming back to how it will determine what is most important. How does it determine which page should be served up? We talked a little bit about how popular a website is based on how many people are linking to it. That is known as off page optimization. When we talk about off page and on page, if we look at our website, everything we do on our page, be it our meta descriptions, be it writing our title tags, our keywords, that is called on page optimization. We do all that optimizing on the page itself. On page optimization is crucial in how to do seo.

How To Get One Way Links

what are one way links? they are merely links posted on other peoples websites that, if clicked on, will take the browser to your your site through a link. However, they are called ‘one way’ because the site that provided the link to your site will not get a link back from you site to their own. It is a very good way of generating positive interest and showing that your site is a must see website.

they are very good at improving your link popularity. This means the number of pages that are linked to your site. You will generate a lot of traffic from people clicking on those links, and there are a lot of free ways to generate them.

you can write articles and submit them to newsletters. These are then archived online.

you can put your site on online directories such as yahoo, or again submit articles to article directories.

you can create a really intriguing website that others will naturally link to. Also seek sites that go well with your and complement you and ask for a link.

you can, like articles, write testimonies and try to get them posted on sites, which will then include a link to your own site.

write on lots of forums, but make sure you check their instructions and rules first. You will be able to participate a lot and then add a signature link to your site that people may click on.

think of something a little outrageous or funny to do which people will be naturally drawn to and so end up adding links.

think about the use of gimmicks. People tend to tell people about odd things that they see. So if you make sure that you come up with a popular gimmick then people may be more likely to let others know.

these are some ideas, but there are many other ways of getting one way links.

Are you searching for methods to efficiently utilize one way links? Submit URL links that are functional and will create the highest visibility and traffic for your site today!

SEO Tips - Dos and Don’ts for Beginners

More people have now experienced the advantages of doing business online. Although some are already successful in just months’ time, others are still struggling to make their online business a success. Why? It is because they did not use a good SEO (Search Engine Optimization) campaign.

So, what do you need to do have a successful business online? Actually, your main goal should be to have greater site visibility in major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Once you reach that goal, you’ll have more online visitors than you ever imagined. So, how to reach your goal? Well, here’s how:

1. Get a new domain if you don’t have any existing site. But if you have, might as well retain the old domain. The reason: search engines check the age of your site and determine whether it has been up for some time already. In short, the older your site is the better. On the other hand, if it’s new, you need to wait for weeks and even months for your site to be indexed by search engines and eventually gain traffic.

2. Do not optimize your site mainly for search engines. Optimize it for audience. Why? Because search engines alter their algorithms and often give priorities to web pages that are user-friendly.

3. Research your primary keywords and keyword phrases extensively. This is of primary importance in every SEO campaign. Why? Because getting no.1 in for example, Google for unrelated keyword will not bring your site any profit. Make sure you use long tail keywords instead of general terms so that visitors can easily find your site. You can use Google Adwords and other keyword generating tools to find the right keywords for your niche.

4. Content is king. So, make sure you write only unique, original, and high quality content. If you can’t do this, you can hire writers to do content writing for a fee, let’s say $3 for a 500-word article.

5. Get backlinks to your website. To do this: turn your site into a link worthy site. You can either use videos to educate your online visitors, include tips and news, or simply create high quality content.

So there you have it. These are just some SEO tips for you to take note when starting your business online. As you go along, you’ll sure find out more.

Why Neighbors Have Better Manners

This is an editorial about neighbors. My husband and I, as well as our toddler son, have lived in our condo complex for just under three years now. We have had our ups and down of getting along with various neighbors here and there. Some have been more friendly than others, and some interactions started out friendly only to turn into hostile situations later on. Over all, I would say we have had your typically average American experience in terms of the friendliness, and sometimes unfriendliness, in our neighborhood.

Now we are planning on moving out in a few weeks. We will be renting our condo out to another young family while we upgrade into a full sized home. Now what do you think happened when we let the word get out that we are leaving?

People coming out left and right to express to us how much they are going to miss us and how they are so sad to see us go. My husband and I were at a loss with the sudden apparent friendliness we were receiving when we had been living in that area just shy of three years. We asked ourselves, why is it people are suddenly so caring about our welfare right when we are about to leave them behind and move one with our lives?

I believe that the answer lies within the very question. For some of the more hostile neighbors, I think they are probably having a secret party to celebrate our departure and they will probably pray that the people taking our place will be the complete opposite of us.

However, this cynical little scenario only applies to a small percentage of the people around us. So what about the majority of our other neighbors who are all of a sudden being so nice now that we are going? I do not think it has anything to do with how they feel about us personally. No, my theory is simply called “the effort factor”. I believe this theory applies to almost anyone in our American society today.

What I mean when I call it the effort factor is this: people want to be nice and decent human beings. We all want to think that we’re making a worthwhile contribution to society. But things can get in the way of our intentions. People work hard, have their families to raise, and their own extended families to keep in touch with, and have a select amount of friends that they want to see on a regular basis.

Therefore, the effort factor of going out and visiting with other neighbors they do not know as well does not enter their minds as often as they’d like to think. But when someone announces that they are moving, it is the perfect opportunity to suddenly give of oneself without having to maintain that effort throughout the future. All you have to do is show your regret that you did not get to know that neighbor very well, make them a little treat to say “goodbye”, and then they go and you are off the hook! Hardly any effort has been put into you being a nice person.

Search Engine Optimization - Good And Bad Practices

What is search engine optimization? This simply refers to tweaks made to the content, layout and HTML of web page to try and influence it’s ranking in the search results of one or more search engines. A whole industry of ‘experts’ has developed that offers this service at sometimes very high hourly rates.

The whole concept dates back to the early days of the Internet and search engines. During the good old days of search engines like Alta Vista, it was in fact quite easy to get your website ranked high in search results. All you had to do was ‘feed’ it with the right meta tags. The right keywords, description tag and title tag had a major influence on how high your website was ranked. In those days you could build a website today and have it ranked high in Alta Vista tomorrow.

Those days are long gone. Search engines quickly caught on that their search results were being manipulated by web designers and they changed the algorithm (formula) they used to determine a page’s ranking.

Theoretically the number of other websites linking to a particular website should be an indication of its importance. Inktomi is an example of one of the early search engines that used this principle to rank websites. Google soon after developed their own patented system whereby they didn’t only count incoming links to a website, but also rated those links in terms of various factors - so not all links were equal.

The result was that webmasters started setting up links sites, link farms and link exchanges to artificially increase the number of websites linking to their site. Soon you could simply buy as many links as you wanted. You could also inflate your link count by posting on blogs and forums - very often totally unrelated to what your own website was about.

Subsequently many blog sites and forums started introducing the nofollow tag to instruct search engine spiders not to let such a link count in favor of a particular website. This tag should not have a negative effect on the page linked to either - it should simply be neutral.

Google has since published an extensive manual where it explains to webmasters what they should be looking at if they want a good ranking in Google’s search results. Topics covered are guidelines for design and content, technical guidelines and quality guidelines that if followed will ensure a positive effect on your website’s ranking.

A real search engine optimization professional would concentrate on improving his customer’s website in terms of quality and relevance rather than advise him or her to spend money on buying incoming links, or have numerous computer generated content pages that mean nothing to a human visitor.

When top search engines released their key criteria a new craze called search engine optimization has struck the internet. Online companies who need a little help boosting sales have turned to seo for help getting ahead. Find out more, now.
