Search Engine Optimization is Not Rocket Surgery

Add comments

Good search engine optimization is the most important aspect of marketing your website and the only way your website will receive respectable rankings with the search engines. Simply designing a website and launching onto the server does not mean you will immediately begin receiving traffic.

So your goal is to reach the top of Google, well then don’t rely on luck because it won’t get you there. There are two important requirements for being number one and they are; understanding the six search engine optimization tactics and designing a site that is search engine friendly. Conquer these two animals and you are half way to the top. Without a search engine optimization (SEO) plan you are probably kidding yourself.

Get Over the Big Terms and Acronyms, This Is Not Rocket Surgery

Search engine optimization is the process of using specific techniques such as keywords, backlinking, site layout, and other components that are favored by the search engine bots which help to get your site noticed by the search engines. The more you follow the criteria set forth by the search engines the better your chances are of receiving a higher ranking.

Tuning Up The Most Important Part of Your Online Business; Your Website!

If you are ready to do it here is the Holy Grail of SEO. Is it really this easy? Do these tactics really work? You bet they do, but with that said, I must tell you that they are not immediate, but once achieved, they are lasting. Good SEO strategy can create huge returns over the long run, not so much over the short haul.

Be the King of Keywords:

The keywords that you want to be number one for must be listed in your domain, your title, your description tags, the body of your text, and on sites that are backlinked to you. Your whole project must be about ‘your buddy’ the keyword. Get the wrong buddy and you will not attract the kind of traffic to your website that you desire.

High Quality Content:

If keywords are King then content is queen. Your content must be relevant and of the highest quality. The higher the quality the longer your visitor stays on your site the higher you will go. Spending the extra time to make sure your keyword is everywhere throughout your site is very important, and equally important is increasing the quality of your content every time there is an opportunity.

The Layout of Your Website is VERY important:

The search spiders do not give high rankings to fancy sites, so it is important to keep you site simple. Spiders operate on mathematical equations not emotion, they are blind to images. We know that we must have good keywords; good content and now we are saying your site must be laid out is a simple way. Remind yourself as to what the spider likes to eat and put lots of food on your site

Get Your Link On:

One of the most powerful tactics for increasing you search engine rank placement is linking to other sites that sing your same song. The more relevant your links are the more power you will give to your website. Article submissions sites, professional directories and social networking sites provide many linking strategies that help boost your SERP. Surround yourself with credibility and you will be rewarded by the singing spiders.

Get on The Social Networks:

Do not forget to promote your site on as many social networking sites as you can. Posting, tweeting, blogging and joining networking sites is a great way of driving traffic to your site and the search engines like to see links to your site on many of these sites.

The Marketing Venues:

With all the venues available for free, it is important to set a goal to put at least 5 to 10 posts a day that link back to your site. Whether you blog, video market or do article submission there are many technologies that can help leverage much of the work that you have to do. Optimize your site with the right keywords, content and links and then go scream it from the mountain.

As was mentioned in the start of the article you must set a game plan and stick to it and in the beginning you will see gradual results but towards the end you will receive exponential results on minimal effort. It is a marathon not a sprint.
