Let’s face it, online video is the future, no, it’s the here and now. YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine, video viewing online is on the rise and you need to be there, getting your brand and products out in front of the viewers. How to do that? Well here are some steps to take in order to increase the success of your YouTube Marketing Campaigns.

Videos are still difficult to index in most search engines and they could use a little help. YouTube now offers automatic captioning on all videos uploaded there. The good news is that it is extra text that is searchable by search engines. But you can help your cause by also creating subtitles for your videos. Subtitles will help you get the message out to more people. Plus, you can create them in multiple languages. That means that your message will be easily found in search engines because subtitle files are text and all search engines can read that.

So you’ve got a product to sell and you want to use YouTube to market it. Did you include a call-to-action in your video? Did you give the viewers a link to where they can instantly buy what it is you are selling? This is vitally important if you want to boost sales and increase conversions. Monty Python did this via their YouTube channel and had such a massive response even they were surprised.

Increase your ranking on YouTube by being active in the community. The static text that you attach to your videos is important. The title, description and tags are used to help rank your video. But so are views, ratings, playlist additions, flagging. On top of that they also use more social features to determine the rank including embedding, sharing, commenting, channel views and subscribers as well as inbound links. How do you get all of those things? You do the same for others. By being an active part of the community you will increase the chance that others will do the same for you, visiting, commenting, subscribing etc. Without any of that you’re really missing out on half of the game.

Of course you have to have good content. If your videos are dull, drab and uninformative, you most certainly will not be getting a load of views. You need to take your information and present it in a compelling way. A way that will make others want to watch the video, share it with friends and click on any links you provide. This is more difficult than you might think. Overproduced videos generally don’t fare well on YouTube and the ones that are successful are the ones that are realistic. The ones that speak to the viewers more than widely aimed television commercials and other videos do. By making your information and content accessible to the masses, you’ll be more likely to get some interaction from them.

There are tons and tons of things to do and not do when YouTube Marketing. Your best and most powerful weapon is information. Before you dive in read all you can about it. Get your account and channel set up and read how it all works. By arming yourself properly you’ll guarantee your future success and use your time, money and energy in a far more efficient manner.
